2019 Election And The Southerners 

People from the North are registering to vote and getting ready by all means against the next general election. They are tagged as the “illiterates”!

An average northerner knows his right and willing to go extra mile to protect it. They participate in the electoral process, they are party members at their wards.

The southerners are online complaining and offline “having fun”, blaming not just the head of the government but anyone for their misfortune.

There is no other way to change a government or send home an elected official that is not performing to expectation than the following factors.

- Participate in the electoral process, politics is at the grassroots.

- Identify a political party of interest, they are all bad, fair enough - but you still need a party to air your views and introduce your ideology.

- Know your party aspirants, ask them questions, challenge their ability. Their manifestos are more important than their “Empowerment”!

- Promote your choice of Aspirant and aim to see them emerge as the party’s candidate in the election.

A lot goes into winning an election, it is challenging, it is a game, it is expensive and extremely demanding.

In this part of the world, even within the same party, you would have enemies, you would be shortchanged and you would be disappointed and outsmarted.

Complaining and abusing won’t change anything, you can’t put in motion any factor towards a change you desire without being part of the people you intend to change.

To understand why there is a problem, you must be close to the source of the problem, what you are seeing or hearing from afar could be the opposite of the reality.

For 2019 to be as you desire, being part of the process is essential, register to vote, mobilise the people to register as well. Then go ahead to do the needful, volunteer to promote your candidate which obviously comes with promoting the party.

In any society where those who have the ideas are ignoring the electoral process with “I don’t care” attitudes then without their knowledge they have authorised the clowns, undesirables, touts, scammers, armed robbers and ritualists to represent them in all posts! You can’t blame the government for the outcome at a later date!

If by any chance, the southerners still refuse to effect the guide above as a matter of urgency, then it won’t be a miracle for things to remain as it is by 2019/2020 and beyond, if not worse.

Polling booths are not on Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram or Whatsapp but on ground at the grassroots.

Make a contribution in whatever way within your ability towards the change you desire.
