Ekiti Election - The Power Play In Action.

Now that the Ekiti election has come and gone, can we now all go back to the drawing board and use the same power, money, magic and apply the same vigour to other areas that are in need in our dear Country.

Before you take sides about the result of that election, you must admit that it was a case of cat and mouse. Both parties know what they were doing and what both parties were up to. They are all friends that must have “won” elections together in the past.

What happened was A rigged and bought votes within their capacity and B rigged and bought votes within their capacity and the best rigger and highest spender got elected – Both parties were wrong but this is Nigeria!

It is unfortunate how elections are being practiced in this country, the system is not creating a level playing field, it is expensive and far from fair – this type of system would always produce corrupt leadership – It has never worked till date!

Did you know that in that election, we had other candidates from other parties? See the long list below!

The candidates of other parties actually have some bigwigs that include ex-ambassadors and old time politicians along with various youths – including those who are in their 30’s!

Did you hear any news about them? No! The media didn’t care, they are not known and they don’t have the money either, therefore they didn’t matter. The same youths you see clamouring for change of power baton today are not ready to support another youth, they don’t want a change but quick cash and these frontline parties and their candidates are super loaded, they know what the youths want too.

No matter how much we hide it, Nigeria is not ready for change, believe it or not, those who are in power already know those who are to be the Governor of the states, and it’s never about the elections but selections.

Elections are too expensive that those with the ideas don’t have the money while those with the money have no ideas when they eventually get in power.

It is shameful that the federal government could allocate 30,000 policemen to Ekiti State for election but those active policemen couldn’t be sent to Benue or Plateau to curtail those unfortunate mayhem where hundreds of people lost their lives!

People are being killed like chickens across the Nation and there are no police to protect them and their properties but magically the government was able to provide not just 30,000 policemen but 1000 Super Racs, 5 Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC), 10 Armoured Personnel Vehicles (APV), 300 Patrol Vehicles, 3 Helicopters.

All these does not include DSS and their vehicles, SSS and their vehicles and personal securities of government officials and party leaders who were local to supervise their “rights”!

Congratulation to the winner, but can we now please go ahead and help other citizens who are in need of our help, SARS officials are killing and robbing the people, people are being killed by Fulani Herdsmen, Armed robbers are still about, our youths are suffering from drugs and cultism across the land.

Dear Federal Government, please help us out the same way you have helped Ekiti with a high degree of determination to change their leadership, remember you will still need the people for the National election and other states, give them a reason to vote willingly.

They are not asking for much but to live and let live, this is not too much to ask from citizens is it?.

And of course, Boko Haram could do with some final attention and elimination!

People are suffering and facing hardship daily - our leaders are busy with change of leadership at every level!
