Why We Must Be Patient With The Governor.

Why We Must Be Patient With The Governor..

Irrespective of where my loyalty lies, which is evident - that won’t take away or adulterate facts and the truth.
His excellency is a professional in politics, a successful businessman who understands the boardroom, forecasting, investment, customer satisfaction, profit maximisation and ultimately delivery.
As a businessman, he thoroughly understands the factors below and it would be great if the people can also be in line.
Feasibility Study - It’s important to understand what you are getting into before making promises or embarking on new projects. As a successful businessman, studying the terrain is important and not negotiable. You need to know practically about everything on ground, the commitments, the needs, the liabilities, ongoing projects, the numerous promises to various communities - these would be his data to deliver better services to the people.
Planning - in every business and equally applicable to any form of government, you can’t start rolling policies out or projects without planning on needs, implementation, finance etc. Imagine embarking on road projects across the state when most of those projects approved previously have not been delivered but paid for in full? This would have a major effect without planning.
Risks - this must be catered for during planing stage. What if what I am about to embark on fails, what’s my backup plan? What could be the effect of the failure on the general people? What can we do to avert such from happening. Where you don’t have adequate planning then embracing fatal risks is inevitable.
Milestones - Successful businesses are never run in one go but in batches, you break your project into smaller and manageable pieces and the first of these pieces is Planning. Then all these pieces will start coming up in layers then merge up to make a successful and acceptable project.
Resources - You will agree with me that no leader is an island, he needs capable hands to brainstorm and be part of his team. Recycling of the same old hands won’t help, therefore new hands are required to help him deliver.
That being said - he won’t survive not appointing core politicians either, this is not abnormal in politics but the challenges of selecting best 10 out 200 loyalists can be a huge challenge, they are all important and valued unfortunately.
I don’t envy him right now, one can only imagine the lobbying from power blocs across the state and beyond. Of course all men want to get onboard with very few willing to make one sacrifice or the other.
The man probably have paracetamol on his table at this minute with his hands on his head. I do not desire to be in his position right now.
House Cleaning - it’s important to clean and make your bed before you lay on it. It’s easy to say I want to hit the ground running but when you get to the ground then the reality kicks in. The state is in a mess and for him not to create additional mess, it’s paramount to clean the mess up first before laying a clean slate.
On the issue of committee - the man is a businessman and a wizard in the boardroom. He understands that power belongs to the people. What he has done is giving the power back to the people to scrutinise, analyse and make recommendations. That’s democracy in play and it’s better to have people make their own decisions than impose decisions on them.
Patience - nothing can be achieved without this factor, the people must embrace some degree of patience and allow him make his moves as planned. He won’t get that far if he has no clue.
I believe the outcome of the series of committees will start manifesting as they submit their recommendations.
In as much as I do not engage in the habit of trading blames but the facts are out there, those who were running towards various implementation at their early days in office without adequate planning and understanding the situation on ground didn’t record much success - of course in their imagination, they were the best thing to have happened to humanity since slice bread.
My dear people - please be patient, we have no other home but the state. We must give all necessary support from all angles to make the state a success under the leadership of Gov.Dapo Abiodun.
It’s okay to criticise, it’s part of democracy. It’s however more attractive to do that constructively.
